Indian Bridal Makeup

When Sahar had told me she wanted to do a Bridal look on me, I laughed it off thinking she wasn't serious. But when she showed up with her huge make up bag along with the fancy 'ghagra' and jewelry, I knew it was no joke. As I sat in front of the mirror while she painted my face, I felt like a princess! The jewelry, the outfit, wow, it was all so mesmerizing at that point. All I was missing was my groom, sigh.
The typical "gold and red" combo is very popular in India. Keeping it traditional, Sahar choose those colours and worked her magic as always. So remember, anyone who has a wedding coming up, you know who to call!

Sahar Khatija

Base

Tip 1: When applying concealer pat (never rub with your finger) until it disappears.

Tip 2: While buying foundation, choose a colour which is one tone darker than your actual skin tone so that it blends in well.

Eyes

Tip 1: Always apply a cream based eye shadow and then a powder based eye shadow so that the colour stays longer.

Tip 2: Use a highlighter under your brow to ‘lift’ your eyes, and it doubles up as an ‘anti-aging’ makeup trick for those who want a bit of a fresher and brighter appearance around the eyes (STEP 3).

Tip 3: Apply white eye shadow on the inner corner of your eyes to widen them up
(STEP 4).

Cheeks

Tip 1: Choose a blush which has an red-ish or pink-ish tint.

Tip 2: Contour your cheeks using a bronzer. However make sure it isn't too dark, you don't want to look like you just got punched in the face! (STEP 2)

Lips and highlights

Tip 1: It's best to apply a lip liner all over your lips before applying lipstick so that the colour stays longer.

Tip 2: Use a highlighter to create attention and make certain areas more prominent (good for brow bones and cheekbones).

Pin the front section for your hair towards one side. Create a half up-do by taking your hair and back-combing it to give it more volume and pin it up as a puff. Curl the rest of your hair with a curler.

2 Secure the 'Maang ka Tikka' with pins and place the veil on the head.
