Fusion

Lately many high street brands have started adopting traditional Indian styles and creating a fusion of Indo-Western trends. A prominent luxury brand, Chanel had also released a collection for their Pre-Fall 2012 known as Paris-Bombay which showcased metallic saris, embroidered jumpers and heavily kohl -rimmed eyes.

In this post, featuring clothes by Reshma Dileepan and make-up and hair by Sahar Khatija we have brought together a look which is inspired by one of the most worn and adorned outfits for generations in India- the Sari! Reshma, an extremely talented upcoming designer from Bangalore and a very dear friend of mine had created a collection for her college fashion show which was inspired by the Sari. This is just a glimpse of that. The crop top is a clear influence of a traditional blouse with a twist. I paired this crop with a black thigh-high slit skirt to give it that western edge.

Make-up was kept relatively subtle to allow the outfit to stand out while the hair was kept slightly messy to give it a playful look. For the eyes she did a cut crease eye shadow.
Products Sahar used:
Foundation- KROYLAN
Powder- KROYLAN
Eyes- Urban Decay, Naked 1
Brows- ELF Eyebrow Kit
Lips- Mixed Colorbar (Pretty Please) and ELF (Runway Pink)
