Recently I've been on the streets a lot, trying to find interesting pieces for dirt cheap; as the month of December is not at all pocket friendly. But to my dismay, I noticed a sudden rise in prices at popular street shopping destinations such as Colaba Causeway, Link Road/ Hill Road at Bandra and Lokhandwala Market.

However, I have a new favourite shopping destination, which has a far better range at much lower prices. Khoka Market, as most locals call it, is the street right outside Ville Parle Station in the west. The street is filled with shops on either sides, and sell an array of rejects from major brands such as Topshop, River Island, Only and Zara, to name a few. Although they may try to quote higher prices by convincing you these are originals, be persistent while bargaining and you can buy tops between Rs. 300-200.

This particular top which I bought from Khoka Market for Rs.250, has multiple uses- it can be worn as a top, as a dress, as a kurta. It is so diverse and has so much wearability. And for this post I went a little Indo-Western wearing it as a kurta with ripped jeans. I plan to share my other purchases from Khoka in the next few posts so you to have an idea of what you may find there.

Happy Shopping!!
