Hello Bombay

All clothes- The Quirk Box

Mumbai may as well be known as fast, hot, crowded and polluted. But on the other hand, one rarely ever misses the opportunity to revel in the beauty of this city in its most unique form-beauty not in the pretty but beauty in the real. It's often difficult for me to say Mumbai, so please bear with me as I call it what it has always been known to me-Bombay. Being a non-native Mumbaikar, this city has often had me lost for words with its uncanny zest. People are perpetually rushing from one place to another, always so deep into their worlds, however, invariably finding the time to help a lost soul. That's probably what amazed me the most about this city. Here one can find people from all walks of life and indulge in stories of those who've come from far-off places to the "city of dreams" just to make a living. It's quite admirable. And although it took some getting used to, I can safely call this city home.

Bombay is the heart of many and in this story, Indra and I, in collaboration with Quirk Box, wanted to share a part of our hearts. We were first inclined to shoot at the most iconic places in Bombay, however, due to unforeseen circumstances, we ended up shifting toward another route. We decided to shoot at places that showed the true spirit of Bombay- amongst its people, its Kabutar and its sea. And we truly couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. It definitely showed our Bombay in its true light.

As Salman Rushdie says, "You can take the boy out of Bombay; you can't take Bombay out of the boy, you know"
